sex Therapy & Relationship Counseling

Pronouns: (They/Them & Any/All)

Lauren Tejeda, MA, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, specializing in sex & relationship therapy with LGBTQIA+ communities, and I welcome folks of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship constellations. My approach interweaves present-moment self & relational awareness via mindfulness, somatics, attachment, and transpersonal modalities, through the fabric of the therapeutic relationship.

My work is informed by a deep reverence for erotic wisdom, sexual & relational diversity, and the significance of relationships in our lives. I work in attendance to our interconnection: relationship to oneself, intimate and community relationships, and relationships to all that may support and guide each of us. We may at times or pervasively find ourselves lost, out of control, or stuck in painful patterns, and I am here to attend to the pain of dis-connection.

I find survival strength and creativity at work even in the most challenging of experiences. I follow closely my clients’ own wants and needs, intuitively and collaboratively forming the relationship with them in best support of their goals. I believe my role as a therapist is to be a companion to my clients, and at times a guide, facilitator, & advocate, and I am honored to be invited into accompaniment. I hold the whole of my clients in great care, and will prioritize one’s agency and well-being at all times.

I am also committed to a socially-just framework of mental health that is rooted in queer, feminist, decolonial, and liberation psychologies with response to the impacts of power and oppression, and historical and intergenerational trauma on individual and collective well-being, as well as in response to unjust structures of society, including within the structures of mental health care itself. I am well-versed in holding nuanced and embodied reflections about how power moves in relationships and in the world, including the therapeutic relationship. My work as a therapist is one expression of my community service values.
