Pronouns: (They/Them & Any/All)

My passion for this work is deeply rooted in my own personal journeys and my desire to be of service to my communities. I am a queer bisexual & genderqueer individual and polyamorous kinkster, and have held these conscious identities and explorations of them since I was a teenager. I am a mixed white-bodied person from a multi-racial & multi-ethnic family - Puerto Rican, Cuban, Ashkenazi Jewish, and Germanic people who met in their community diasporas on Lenape land of Brooklyn and Queens, NY, where I was born and raised. My family was deeply impacted by generations of childhood sexual abuse, addictions, trauma, and severed connections to one another and cultures of origin. As a survivor of so much, my own experiences of my gender, sexuality, and relationships have been sites of great meaning & transformation throughout my life, and while these journeys are ongoing, I have a deep appreciation for how different these journeys have been at different times in my life- amongst shifts in age, body, relationships, under different stressors, contexts, and inspirations. My connection to spiritual practice has accompanied me along the way, informing my orientations to therapy that value many ways of knowing and experiencing. As a youth navigating crisis, I connected with Buddhist meditation and my ancestral animist practices, and I continue to prioritize decolonial contemplative inquiry & practice in these traditions.

For over two decades, I have been involved with and learning from lineages of grassroots community organizing. Being a therapist is one of many expressions of my community service values. I will always value the expertise of my clients’ lived experiences, and I am committed to my own ongoing learning, growth, and community engagement, inside and outside of academic and clinical settings. I am rooted in queer, feminist, decolonial, and liberation psychologies, with response to the impacts of power and oppression, and historical and intergenerational trauma on individual and collective wellbeing. I am dedicated to approaching my role as a mental health care provider in a way that is not just culturally attuned but also socially just and anti-carceral, in response to the often unjust structures of mental health care itself.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a hobbyist herbalist and plant nerd, and love spending time in nature. I am an avid reader and creative writer, and I love literature genres of sci-fi, horror, speculative & historical fiction, fantasy, history, critical studies, lyrical non-fiction, and poetry. I’m also highly musical audiophile with a love for a vast array of music. In a neurodivergent bodymind that is impacted by chronic illness, I have developed practices of listening to and adjusting to my own rhythms. When it’s available to me, I love lifting heavy barbells, rock climbing, and long slow meandering hikes, and I also love lounging with books and video games. Also, my spouse and I have a sweet and silly street rescue dog who brings us daily laughter, and I am pretty obsessed with her magnificence.
